Sure to draw comparisons to Florence and the Machine, Marina and the Diamonds and her debut album, 'The Family Jewels', still hold up in their own right.

"Who Fingered Rock and Roll" - Cornershop

Even though this track from one of my old time favorite bands Cornershop was released last year in the UK, it was only recently released stateside. My thought was that they had to make sure enough time had passed since the movie Freddie Got Fingered came out so as to ensure there was no question as to whether the two were related.

One of the better covers I've heard in a while.

"Oh Lord" - Foxy Shazam

Since the band 'The Darkness' ceased being relevant several years ago, there's been a clear void in lead singers worthy enough to evoke the spirit of the late Freddie Mercury. Enter Cincinnati-based Foxy Shazam, and their glam rock lead singer Eric Sean Nally. Their self titled album was released earlier this week, and does not disappoint from top to bottom. Fat bottomed that is.
